The iconic BRM team will celebrate its 60th anniversary at Shelsley Walsh's Classic Nostalgia weekend in July.

After disappearing into the abyss in the 1970s, the Owen family has resurrected the BRM brand and has commissioned Hall & Hall to build of three new P15 V16 cars.

In order to build the new cars Hall and Hall has used the same drawings that were used to build the original cars in the 1950s, and has had to individually engineer over 36,000 components.

The first of the new P15 V16s was officially unveiled at last year's Goodwood Revival, but BRM will now celebrate its 60th anniversary at Shelsley Walsh on July 16- July 17 in what will be one of three flagship events the outfit attends this year.

"It will feel like a real homecoming for BRM," said Paul Owen.

"Not only was Shelsley very special to Raymond Mays, Ken Wharton demonstrated the V16 there during the 1950s, and great hillclimbers such as Tony Marsh, Tony Griffiths and Peter Lawson enjoyed considerable success in BRMs through the 1960s.

"We’re very excited to be going back there for the Classic Nostalgia meeting, and look forward to a new generation of enthusiasts having the chance to see and hear the V16 as well as many other BRMs."

As part of the celebration, the Classic Nostalgia event will feature more than 20 BRMs, including the P15 V16 and the P154 which was raced in the Can-Am series.

Former BRM drivers Richard Attwood and Mike Wilds will also be in attendance along with various members of the Owen family.

Shelsley Walsh holds special significance for BRM given the team's founder Raymond Mays was a regular on the hillclimb.

Between 1923 and 1950, Mays set Best Time of the Day on 21 occasions, most of which came at the wheel of cars built by his English Racing Automobiles (ERA) outfit.

And by the time he took his final victory at Shelsley Walsh in June 1950, Mays' new British Racing Motors team was about to give its V16 Formula 1 car its debut outing.
